The Federal Government has recently established a new task force to review the disability employment system and establish a National Framework to improve employment rates for people with disability. The taskforce is leading a national public consultation, which began with publication of a discussion paper in May 2015.

In August 2014, AAA lodged a submission in response to the New System for Better Employment and Social Outcomes Report, from the Minister for Social Services. The Department of Social Services Reference Group sought feedback on the report in order to inform the development of its final report to the Minister for Social services. AAA understands that better employment and social outcomes are issues that are relevant to many artists with disability, hence taking time to consider the report and provide a submission.
