$30,000 Fellowship to support artists with disability

A new $30,000 fellowship that will boost the professional development of an artist with disability has been launched as part of the NSW Government’s commitment to support artists’ careers.

The Artist with Disability Fellowship, developed in collaboration with Accessible Arts, is open to professional mid-career or established artists working in any art form, including music, theatre, visual arts, or writing, who identify as having a disability.

The Charles Darwin University Arts Award Open for Nominations

The Arts Award celebrates the creative practices of young people, particularly the initiative and commitment required to produce inspirational work. The Arts Award values the diversity and innovation of young people working in the arts and acknowledges their contribution to Australian culture.

UTAS Cradle Coast Campus 2017 Arts Residency

The University of Tasmania, is pleased to announce the opening of the Cradle Coast Campus, 2017 Artist in Residence Program.

A maximum $5,000 AUD is available for regionally-specific projects in any discipline, for projects up to 4 weeks in duration,  to be conducted in the Cradle Coast region of Tasmania in 2017.

Casting for wheelchair user

Interested in being in series 2 of Glitch?  The character Pete Rennox, brother of regular cast member Chris played by John Leary, is open for audition.

Pete was a bit of a scoundrel as a young man. A star footy player in the local team, he was arrogant and aggressive. One night drunk and driving recklessly, Pete smashed his car and ended up in a wheelchair with an acquired brain injury.

The Horne Prize for writing

Cultural partners since 2014, Aesop and The Saturday Paper are pleased to present a major new essay award, The Horne Prize, valued at $15,000. It will be awarded in late December for an essay of up to 3000 words, addressing some part of the theme ‘Australian life’.
