It seems that Geelong is a real hotspot for arts activity which involves people with disabilities. Our next newsletter will include a profile of all AAA members. AAA's Northern Territory InitiativeOn 22 November, AAA, with the support of Arts NT and the Australia Council, is holding to an initial meeting of stake holders in the arts, disability and health sectors in Darwin and the Northern Territory (NT). The aim of the meeting is to discuss potential alliances and collaborations between arts organisations, people with disabilities, people experiencing social disadvantage, disability organisations and artists. Government Agency NewsArts SAResults of the Arts SA Project Assistance round for March 2001 included a number of grants to people working in the arts and disability sector. They include grants to:

Report from Kickstart Festival (Canada) and EdinburghTony Doyle, Artistic Director of Arts in Action and the Highbeam Festival, is freshly back from the recent Kickstart Festival in Vancouver and the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. Tony reported that the Kickstart Festival had a strong Australian representation with Liz Navratil (Qld) and Jane Muras (SA) performing at the Festival . Another outstanding performance was from Canada's Madame Josette's Nothing is Sacred Cabaret by Jeanie Calvert. Edinburgh had its first arts and disability festival within the main festival called "Degenerate". The program included some great professional productions including a show by Nabil Sheban who started Grae in a show called "I am a Walrus". 5. JobsAustralian Network for Art and Health (ANAH) PROJECT OFFICERANAH with the assistance of the Australia Council, is seeking expressions of interest for a Project Officer. Conferences and EventsRewind FestivalAAA (WA) Inc present their 5th Rewind Festival from 2 -11 November 2001 in Perth. This festival offers participants and audiences a diverse program of the best local and interstate arts stemming from the disability community. New ResourcesOn-line artist register (Victoria)Arts Access (Vic) has developed an on-line artist register which connects artists with potential employers across Victoria. Artists can register online, and they have the option of including an agent's contact details, or their own. It also has a section on the areas of experience and artform that the artist works in, which allows potential employers to find an artist who matches their specific requirements.
