The funding results were good, thanks to an extra allocation from the Australia Council towards AAA's "Making the Journey" project, and the first ever funding received from the Department of Family and Community Services. Following the priorities set at the Annual Face to Face meeting in Maroochydore, this years focus will be : National Coordination; Making the Journey and Regional Infrastructure Development. 3. Government Agency NewsHuman Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission (HREOC)In recognition that life for people with disabilities consists of more than transport in taxis, and that everyone has the right to equal access to arts and culture, HREOC has put a new page up on its website which talks about Arts and Culture. Australia CouncilIn early August AAA representatives Nicole Beyer and Claire Havey met with staff from the Australia Council to discuss its Disability Action Plan. These meetings are quarterly and AAA's role is an advisory one. Outcomes from this recent meeting include agreement between AAA and the Australia Council that whilst Disability Action Plans are an important tool, they are only part of a broader commitment to addressing disability issues in the arts. So let's keep working towards a Disability Policy in the Australia Council. 4.
