Let's Dance! Applications Open for the Weave Movement and AAA Weekend Intensive Workshop in Inclusive Dance

Weave Movement Theatre, in Partnership with Arts Access Australia presents:

A Weekend Intensive Workshop in Inclusive Dance: 19 – 21 September 2014

Throughout 2014, Weave Movement Theatre will be delivering a series of inclusive dance workshops, as part of the Professional Development Partnership Project with Arts Access Australia. As well as a number of local sessions held in Melbourne throughout the year, this series will also include a weekend intensive workshop, led by Caroline Bowditch, a dynamic inclusive dance artist from the UK.

In order to maximise the national reach of this project, AAA and Weave Movement Theatre are inviting expressions of interest from artists with disability in all States and Territories, who would like to travel to Melbourne, to participate in the weekend intensive. Funding for travel costs and accommodation, as well as participation in the workshop, will be provided.

Workshop Details

Date: 19 - 21 September 2014

Time: 10 AM – 4 PM each day.

Location: Dancehouse, Melbourne

After 12 years away, Australian born and now UK based performance artist and choreographer, Caroline Bowditch, will return to work with Weave Movement Theatre, the company that first sparked her passion for dance many years ago. Caroline is passionate about creating work that comes from the artists themselves, and which is accessible to audiences using clear ideas and concepts, whilst taking a multi-faceted approach. Over this three day workshop, Caroline will share with participants the artistic practices that she has developed, drawing on improvisation, text, stories, concepts and images, and explore ideas connected to her current and future work.
