Arts Access Australia is a membership based organisation, with two types of members. Original Arts Access Australia members are the peak arts and disability organisation in their State or Territory. They are listed below. Arts Access Australia has Associate Member organisations and is involved in formal partnerships with external organisations. Since its conception in 1983, it has developed a national profile for involving people with disabilities and those who are disadvantaged in the design and production of producing quality arts works, performances and cultural events. In the years Access Arts has been operating in Queensland it has built a strong reputation for creating arts advocacy projects for and with people with disabilities and those disadvantaged by social conditions. Arts Access SAArts Access SA (AASA) is the peak arts and disability organisation in South Australia. AASA advocates for access and participation in South Australia’s arts and cultural life by all people with disabilities and undertakes targeted projects, specifically in the areas of leadership and activism, as well as in regional and remote areas where cultural opportunities for people with disabilities remain limited. AASA also hosts High Beam, Australia’s international celebration of arts and disability. Art Ability ACT is a source of information and advice for artists with disabilities living and working in the ACT. Contact Tel: 02 6247 1882 DADAA Western AustraliaDADAA WA offers a State -wide program of Arts Development and Arts and Health services for Western Australians experiencing disability/disadvantage. Programs target the broad needs of the disability community and include - Mental Health services, Ageing and Disability projects, Training, Children' programs and community cultural development programs for people experiencing disabilities in rural remote WA.
